Identify the edition, entry window and required action before adding a date to an internal plan. Payment, file submission and sample arrival need not fall on the same day.
An edition identifies the rules, not the opening year
The final entry milestone for iF DESIGN AWARD 2027 falls in November 2026, with final judging in 2027. Great Taste 2027 opens in December 2026. Neither becomes a 2026 edition because registration takes place in that year.
Keep both the award edition and event date in working records. Forms, charges, eligibility and results relate to the edition; individual tasks have their own dates. This avoids combining previous results, next-edition announcements and current charges into one misleading record.
One programme may have several windows
The Superior Taste Award 2027 calendar separates autumn and spring evaluations and the registration arrangements for food and beverages. A shared programme name does not make these deadlines interchangeable.
Select the product category and evaluation window before confirming milestones. A company entering both food and beverages needs separate tasks. Completing one registration does not mean the other is ready.
Manage entry and sample-arrival dates separately
DWWA 2027 lists different dates for direct delivery, consolidated shipping and trade-show drop-off. A direct-delivery deadline does not apply to every consolidation route. Select the route and add its own drop-off deadline to the plan.
Read “dispatch”, “delivery to a consolidation point” and “arrival at the judging warehouse” carefully. They describe different actions. Substituting a courier dispatch date for an arrival deadline changes what the company must complete.
Preserve the precision of the official information
If only a month is published, retain a month. If a day and month are given without a year, confirm the edition context before creating a full date. “Before” and “approximately” must not become a definite 23:59 closing time.
Where a time is published, retain the official time zone before calculating working dates in China. If the time zone, weekday and numeric date conflict, obtain a clear basis before using an exact countdown. A tidy interface must not conceal a source discrepancy.
Allow time for internal approval
Record internal dates for final files, approval, payment and dispatch. These are execution targets and should not be presented as organiser deadlines. Update both the event and the preparation tasks when the organiser extends a date or closes early at capacity.
Use the calendar for programme- and edition-specific milestones. Annual advisory can coordinate work across calendar years.

Preparation checklist
| Date type | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Entry closing | Submission completion, region, route and official time zone |
| Payment | Separate payment, cleared funds or payment-confirmation rule |
| Sample arrival | Receiving point, route and dispatch-versus-arrival wording |
| Judging and results | Confirmed day or estimated period; supplementary-file effects |
| Month only | Preserve precision rather than adding a month-end 23:59 time |
A practical question
Can a date-only source support an exact countdown?
Do not invent a time or time zone. Show the date and flag the closing boundary for confirmation. Exact conversion is appropriate only where both the official time and time zone are clear.
Use the directory for the specific organiser and edition, and compare entry options if support is needed.
